How many times have you walked off the eighteenth green and said to yourself, if only I had not missed so many puts. I know I do, all too frequently for my liking. But have you ever thought seriously about why you have taken so many putts? A little reflection and analysis will reveal to you exactly why this happens.

If you think about how many long putts you have had to make in a typical round of golf, that will give you a clue. The problem is judging how hard to hit a putt so as to give yourself a holeable next putt. I want to hole my next putt after being a long way off, and I am generally mightily relieved when I hole in two from long range. It does not always happen for me though.

It is much better, in my opinion, if you train your muscles how hard to hit those putts of about twenty yards, so they finish near the cup.

Here is how I have taught myself to hit those putts close every time from long range. Lay a club near to the edge of the green, or you can use the fringe of the green itself, if it is clear cut. Position yourself anywhere between twenty and forty yards from the target. Playing about twelve balls, see how many you can get close to the golf club or fringe of the green without touching either.

This golf putting tip does not require you to think about line, only about distance, and getting the muscles used to hitting the shot as hard as it takes to get close to where you want the golf ball to finish.

If you find this putting drill a bit dull, try and get a friend interested in competing with you, as this will sharpen your concentration, and you will get more out of practicing this way.

This is one of many golf putting tips which has helped me to improve my putting skills.

How To Improve Your Golf Swing - Take Some Time To Do This

The question of how to improve your golf swing usually arises when something has gone wrong in your game. For most golfers, that might mean they have developed a golfers slice or hook, and they are anxious to resolve the problem. Both these golf faults, their causes and cures, are well documented on the internet, even though it quickly becomes apparent to the keen observer, there is no simple solution which works for everyone.

That is the point I am making. Resolving golf faults and trying to improve your golf swing, only happens by trial and error methods. The emphasis here is on understanding what is causing the problem, and taking the right corrective measures to eradicate the golf fault from your game.

In order to improve your golf swing, you need to define your objectives. For instance, you might have decided to reduce your golf handicap by five strokes this year. Having thought carefully about this, and deciding you believe the target is achievable, you then set out a plan of how you are going to reach that goal.

That will mean analysing your playing game, its strengths and weaknesses. Going over, hole by hole, where you can save shots on a consistent basis. In order to give yourself some data to work with, you will need to document your rounds of golf, in terms of strokes taken at every hole, for a period of time. A month would give a true reflection on your current standard of play.

The next step is to look for trends, or many occurrences of a similar event, and use those to your advantage. For example, if I noticed that I often tended to finish the last four holes of my round in six over par, on average, I might come to the conclusion that my fitness level was not as good as it should be.

By using the same analysis on your own set of scores, logged over a representative period of time, you too could gain valuable insights into how to improve your golf swing.

How To Fix A Golf Slice - 2 Easy Tips You Can Use Today

Because the golf slice is such a big problem for golfers, many of them ask how to fix a golf slice. You might be surprised to learn that a high percentage of golfers suffer from this golf fault. You can choose to live with the golf slice, by allowing for the curve shot to the right every time. But, in doing this, you are sacrificing distance, especially with the driver. In this article, I am going to show you how to fix a golf slice for good.

As you surf the internet looking for a golf slice cure, you might be a bit overwhelmed by all the good advice there is about the golf slice, its causes and cures. Very often you can be more confused about what you should be doing than you were before. I am going to show you two simple, but effective cures for the golf slice, which will straighten out your golf shots. Just bear with me and give them a try.

1. Pick up a club and have a few practice swings, with a small towel tucked under your right arm. Do this a few times so you can memorize the feeling. Then, use that same feeling in your next golf shot. This exercise will train you to swing from inside the line of flight, and will cure the over the top golf swing, which makes you swing across the line of flight from outside to in, which in turn causes a slice.

2. The second tip has to do with keeping the swing on plane. You do this at address, by placing the weight slightly more on the right foot than the left. From this position it is easier to swing to the top of the backswing, and be on plane. Simple, but effective.

I hope you have enjoyed reading these two quick tips on how to fix a golf slice, and that by using them, you bring an end to your golf slicing troubles.

Cure A Hook In Golf

This article is for those golfers who want to know how to cure a hook in golf. If you are unlucky enough to be suffering from a hook in golf you might be wondering if you will ever stop hooking the ball.

Like any other golf fault, once you start hooking, you invariably continue until the cure is found. Sadly, there is no quick cure for a hook in golf, as this golf fault can be located in different parts of the setup and swing. So, find the cause and you get rid of the golf hook.

What Is Making Me To Hook The Ball?
The cause could be in the setup or the swing. Let me give you some examples. If you aim is to the right of the target, the ball is too far towards the middle of your stance, and the grip is too tight. All of these together, or in various combinations contribute to a hook in golf.

What is happening is you are causing the golf ball to spin from right to left. If you think about how this comes about, it is because you are swinging from too far inside the line of flight. Once you are on this swing path, the club is taken out too far away from the target after impact, instead of in line with it. This is what causes the spin on the ball.

If you add to this mix a strong grip, and a closed club face at impact, you have a hook in golf.

How Do You Cure A Hook In Golf?

The best way to eradicate the golfers hook is to understand how the hook happens, and then simple to play the ball square to the target. In practice, that means adopting a square stance, with the feet in line with the intended direction of the shot, and using the correct grip.

All you need do is swing the club in line with the target, and follow through straight at the target after impact. By making these simple adjustments to your golf swing you will be well on the way to cure a hook in golf.

I have included the following golf swing video to give you guidance on how to cure a hook in golf.

The Easy Golf Swing

An easy golf swing, or to put it another way, a simple way to swing the golf club, is surely the goal of the struggling handicap golfer. When you are new to the game of golf, and have not been playing the game for long, you often find golfers seeking to find an easy golf swing. So what exactly is this easy golf swing system that will enable you to begin playing consistent golf shots?

Well, easy implies straightforward, uncomplicated, so the easy golf swing is just that. There are not lots of rules to learn for each stage of the golf swing. Rather it needs to be smooth and flowing. Unhurried and reliable. This golf swing will not let you down when you are playing under pressure.

Once you learn to swing the club this way, some golfers try to fine tune their golf swing, and in doing so it is invariably their ability to hit consistent golf shots which suffers as a result. And you would be surprised, in some instances, how long it takes to regain that valuable asset called consistency.

There have been examples of many famous golfers over the years, who have tweaked their golf swings, and have subsequently struggled to recapture their form on the golf course afterwards.

What are the characteristics of the the easy golf swing?

The two most important features are that it is both simple and smooth. In short, it must flow. The emphasis is on swing tempo rather than thinking about what is actually happening as you swing the golf club. The best way to appreciate how this feels in reality, is to swing a rope with a weight attached to the end. You can only swing the rope the right way else you will not be able to swing it smoothly, which is the goal of this exercise.

When you have learned to swing the rope smoothly, you can then swing the golf club the same way, and you have the foundation of an easy golf swing.

Golf Made Simple - Golf Does Not Have To Be Difficult To Play

I remember when I first started playing the game of golf as a boy, I was so full of enthusiasm for the game and my ambition was to be a better golfer. I was always looking for ways to hit my drives further than anyone else, and would read about the various golfing techniques of making it happen.

After playing the game for a few months, my head was so full of ideas and techniques to remember to try while I was on the golf course, that you could say I was suffering from information overload. My head was so crammed full of tips and techniques I had read about, and I just had to try them out on the golf course. I should have practiced them first but I was too impatient for that.

Information overload is something many handicap golfers can get caught up in. If it is not the latest golfing tip it could be trying to remember to do all sorts of things during the golf swing. When you think how quickly the golf swing is over once it has begun, you realize how pointless it is to try and remember where the clubface should be pointing at the top of the backswing if you have not practiced it so many times that you know where it is by now.

Or it might be you are thinking about where the right elbow should be pointing at the top of the backswing. The list is endless. There are so many things going on during the golf swing there just is not time to think about too many details at the same time.

Golf does not have to be hard, nor should it be. It is only a game after all, and it is a sport which is meant to be enjoyed
by all who play.

The day my golf started to improve was the day I got rid of all the mental clutter I was carrying around the golf course in my head. I have long been a fan of the simple golf swing system. My interpretation of this principle is that you swing the club with the emphasis on rhythm and tempo, rather than brute force. By concentrating on golf swing tempo alone, my golf game improved a lot, and I am less stressed than before.

The Simple Golf Swing is a golfing product I came across on the internet and it makes a lot of sense to me. I have not tried it myself, but any golf program which teaches a controlled golf swing, as this one does, must be good a good thing. The reason so many high handicap golfers never improve is because they have never learned to swing the golf club properly. Learn one swing, stick with it, and see you golf game improve. Golf made simple.

Golf Driver Tips - What Do I Need To Do To Increase Driver Distance?

One of the most common problems those new to the game of golf have is how to increase driver distance off the tee.

If you can barely breach the two hundred yard barrier with the driver you are going to really struggle to make the par fours in regulation figures. So what does the handicap golfer need to do to increase driver distance?

Golf becomes such a battle when you do not hit the ball far enough off the tee to give yourself a reasonable chance of reaching the green in two shots, or at least getting the ball within a short iron distance of the flag in two.

Frustration creeps in and it is easy to lose motivation at this point. You often find that beginners can hit the short irons longer than the wood clubs. Why is this? It does not seem to make sense. One reason is, I believe, the more brute force you use to hit the ball the shorter the drive travels in distance.

A second reason has to do with confidence in the club you are playing. Short irons are easy to play well. They have a generous amount of loft, and a shorter shaft length. Practice hitting these well first, then work on the longer irons and three wood, rather than the driver. Leave that in the bag for now.

Concentrate on hitting down on the short iron shots, and this will help you to hit the ball before the ground. All golfers know the frustration of hitting the ground before the ball.

The driver and long irons need a different approach and skill set to play them well. With these clubs you need a longer and slower swing, more of a sweeping motion, leading to a reliance on the loft of the club to make the ball rise in the air and carry for longer distances. When you are new to the game, it is difficult to understand that this is the type of swing you need.

Learning to swing this way is not difficult, no more so than any other skill. All it takes is the right training, and then practice.

How To Correct A Golf Slice

The golfer's slice has more than one cause, and if you want to know how to cure a slice in golf you need to identify what is causing you to slice.

In general terms, the problem could be an incorrect grip, the body alignment could be wrong, the ball position in the setup might be wrong as well, so might the angle of the club face.

In view of these many factors coming in to play, your job is to find what is making you slice, by eliminating each one of these causes.

The golfer's slice is a common fault among handicap golfers, and can be very destructive if left uncorrected. When you play holes with an out of bounds on the right, or a selection of hazards down the right fairway, you will soon see what I mean. It is not only the trouble the shot puts you in, but it takes a lot of length off your shots as well.

Bear in mind that the slice in golf can be caused when the swing is in progress, rather than have its cause in the setup. This cure for the golf slice deals with the address position only.

1. Do not grip the club too tightly as this can prevent you from pivoting fully. What happens next is the hands and arms pull the club across the ball from an outside to in swing plane. The result is a sliced golf shot.

2. Make sure the club head is square to the ball at the address. It is easy for the novice golfer to inadvertently open the club face at the setup, and from there it is likely to stay open through the rest of the swing.

If you do not know what a square position for the club face looks like, stand opposite someone who does, then go grip the club from them , without moving the club. You might be in for a surprise when you try this.

3. Your body must be aligned square to the intended target. That means you shoulders, hips and feet must be square to the chosen line of flight. If the stance is open or closed, your body will try to compensate for this during the swing, and the shot will be sliced.

4. Ball position. You must know the correct ball position for each of the clubs in your bag. If the ball position with the driver, for instance, is too far forward, the impact is delayed and the swing path is to the inside track. The club face is no longer square to the line of flight, rather it is travelling to the left as the club face passes from the outside to in, causing a slice.

I hope this article helps you in some way to cure your golf slice.

How To Shoot Below 80

Few things are quite so frustrating in golf when you are regularly shooting scores in the low 80s. As you finish your round of golf and reflect on the events of the past eighteen holes you convince yourself in no time that you could easily save yourself three shots at least, which would tip your score below the eighty barrier.

That is often all it takes, just taking a bit more care on some holes. Once you reach a certain level of consistency in your golf game, it becomes a matter of researching the shots played to pinpoint which area of your game needs attention.

You do this by applying a set of objectives on each hole. For instance, starting with the driver, ask yourself how many holes have you not been able to reach the green in regulation figures, after hitting your drive?

Do your mid irons leave you with a hole-able put?

Chip shots off the green, say from twenty five yards out, how often do you leave a hole-able putt?

On the putting surface, how many putts between 3 to 4 feet did you miss?

Did you lose shots in hazards like a bunker or water hazard?

By analyzing a round of golf in this way it becomes straight quite easy to spot ares of concern in your game, from which you can take action.

If you jot these statistics down as you go round the course, it gives you a reliable way of checking your play, and it is better than trying to recall every hole played from memory.

The bottom line is, if you can shoot scores close to eighty, you can shoot below 80. All it takes is practice and application on your part. Just hold your nerve, you can do it.

Golf Driver Problems

Golf driver problems cause many handicap golfers a lot of frustration. Without a doubt, the driver is the trickiest golf club in the bag to play consistently well. True, every handicap golfer has days when the drives go straight and long, but these tend to be the exception.

The next round you play, the ball goes all round the golf links. Anywhere but on the fairway, which is of course the preferred target area.

So what are the some of the common golf driver problems?

1.Slicing. This is when the trajectory of the ball is either high or low, and the shot curves in an arc, starting to the left of the intended target and then bends round to the right. Some golfers deliberately allow for the slice, but it is a risky shot for the handicap golfer to play because it can land you in trouble in the rough.

2.Hooking. When you hit a hooked shot the ball curves in the opposite direction to that described in the sliced golf shot. It can be similarly devastating in landing you in some serious off the fairway hazard.

3.Topped shot. This is when you raise your head too early on the downswing, and the ball scuttles along close to the ground.

4.The skied drive. This is the one golfers find embarrassing. The ball climbs upwards into the sky at a very steep angle, and keeps going upwards. As all the energy of the shot has gone upwards rather than outwards, there is no distance in the shot. You would be lucky to make a hundred yards.

Don't let golf driver problems spoil you golf game. There is often a quick solution to them.

Curing Over the Top Golf Swing

The over the top golf swing is where the golfer takes the club back too much on the inside swing plane. Almost a scythe swing pattern, sideways in its arc, rather than taking the club back on a straighter and more upright swing arc. The cause of it is an incorrect setup. Often golfers who play the over the top swing start with a closed stance, at the same time the shoulders are open.

The result of swinging the club in this way, is that there is an over compensation at the top of the swing. The club head is thrown away from the player on to the outside swing path, and the outside to in swing arc produces either a pulled shot, to the left, or the banana slice which starts left then arcs to the right.

It is a brutally destructive shot, and will land you in all kinds of trouble on the golf course.

Curing over the top golf swing is done as follows:

1.Check the golf fundamentals, starting with the grip, which should neither be too weak or too strong.

2.Stand square to the target, paying particular attention to the feet and shoulders, which should both be square.

3.Begin the back swing by taking the club back straight, and as you do so, think of hitting the shot from the inside. Just having this thought can help you to hit the ball properly.

4.Start the downswing by transferring the weight on to the left side, while at the same time delaying un cocking the wrists, so as to inject as much club head speed into the shot as you can.

Finally, I hope these tips help, and good luck curing the over the top golf swing.

3 Secrets To Long Golf Drives

Have you ever been curious about the secrets to long golf drives? For most handicap golfers the driver is the one club in the bag everyone wants to be able to hit long and far. There is a lot of prestige associated with hitting long drives in the golfing fraternity, and we all want some of that, if we are honest.

Because of the deep face and absence of loft on the typical golf driver, many golfers find playing the driver difficult. The tendency for the handicapper is to try and scoop the ball into the air instead of swinging the club and letting the loft take care of the rest.

Listed below are three secrets to long golf drives.

1. The ball must be played from the bottom of the swing. The correct position is to have the ball in line with the heel of the left shoe. The feet must be square to the line of flight and the stance width should be about your normal walking stride distance apart. The setup is really important and needs to checked regularly for any variation.

2. Move your weight to the right side at the top of the back swing. If you do not do this, you will not be able to hit long drives. To make this weight shift easier, tilt the upper body to the right at the address. As you do so you will feel the weight more on your right foot. About sixty percent.

3. You need a swing which is smooth yet powerful. One which will not let you down when the pressure is on. This kind of swing can be learned. See the link at the end of this article for more details.

Hitting longer drives gives the golfer huge satisfaction, not just at the time it happened, but months and sometimes years later , we can still remember them.

Solid Iron Shots Drills - 2 Keys to Hitting Solid Iron Shots

If your desire is to play good golf and lower your handicap, you have to have a good grasp of the fundamentals of golf. You will need a good golf swing as well. To understand what I mean by good golf swing, take as an example, any of today's top professional players as a model. Solid iron shots are the result of having a solid golf swing.

Here are two drills to help you hit solid iron shots.

1. By cultivating the technique of hitting the ball late in the downswing, you generate the power and accuracy needed to play the irons well every time. But how do you practice a movement which happens so quickly? I like to use a broom handle. Grip it with each hand separately, with the hands spaced about three inches apart.

Swing the handle, as you would a club, to waist height. Pause it there, then feel the right arm drive the handle down and through the imaginary ball. Follow through as you would with a real club.

You will also notice a whooshing sound as you whip the broom handle down and through the swing. What you are trying to do here is memorize this action so you can replicate it during your actual swing.

2. Practice hitting iron shots with both feet together. This will remind you of the role the hands and arms play in contributing to the swing. The key test is whether you lose your balance playing these shots. If you do, the body is contributing too much.

I hope these two tips help you to hit solid iron shots.

What is the Proper Way to Swing a Golf Club?

Golfers who want to improve their game often ask the question, what is the proper way to swing a golf club? To those who do not know, you could pick up a club and swing it in any way that feels natural. This does not mean it is the correct way. One of the best ways of learning to swing a golf club is to watch how other golfers do it.

You soon learn to pick out the golfers who strike the ball best, then watch what they do. It is also a matter of knowing what to look for in other peoples golf swings. For instance, the beginner at golf might not be able to tell the difference between an upright swing and a flat plane swing.

That is just one example of one feature to look for in the swing. There is so much going on when the golfer swings the club, that you can really only look for one feature at a time.

What is the proper way to swing a golf club?

1. Start with the grip. You need to learn to grip the club correctly. The hands are the direct link between the golfer and the club. The right grip will help put your swing on the proper swing path.

2. Find the right distance to stand from the ball, and the best width for your stance.

3. Practice swinging a golf club, at the same time learning the correct tempo and rhythm of the swing. This is very important for consistency and accuracy of golf shots.

These are the fundamentals of the golf game, which can be learned from books and videos. It is well worth the effort to practice these skills before taking to the golf course. There are some popular golf programs to be found in the link at the end of this article.

Some Tips To Hit A Golf Driver Solidly

When you are new to golf, and have not been playing the game long, you probably find you can do alright playing most of the irons, and the putter of course, but then the driver takes longer to master. It is the longest club in the bag and the one with the least amount of loft.

Beginners tend to try and scoop the ball with this club, instead of sweeping it away in a long rhythmic motion. The swing with the golf driver tends to be unique to that club. You need to position yourself correctly at the address to give yourself the best chance of hitting a good drive.

That means positioning the ball just inside the left heel, which is where you will see the majority of golfers have the ball lined up. The head needs to be behind the ball at the address. By doing this you set yourself up for a powerful swing through the ball at impact.

High handicap golfers fail to realize this, which is why they hit so many bad shots with the driver. Having the head behind the ball at setup starts you off with the body weight biased toward the right side, which you need to achieve a wide swing arc.

You then transfer the weight back to the left side immediately you start the downswing, at the same time delaying uncocking the wrists, which will enable the hands to whip through the ball, generating club head speed to move the ball a good distance.

The golf swing release occurs at waist height in the downswing, and it helps to practice this action regularly, to learn what it feels like, making it easier to repeat the action on the golf course.

Heeled Golf Shot | The Golf Slice Cause

The heeled golf shot is the one you normally play with the driver or fairway woods, and you hit the ball with the heel of the club face instead of its centre. The flight of the heeled golf shot starts low, to the left of the target and arcs round to the right. A sliced shot. in other words.

This is one of the causes of the golf swing slice.

How does it happen?

When addressing the shot with the driver, the ball is positioned too far back in the stance. That is usually the main cause. What also happens is that during the back swing, too much weight is placed on the left side, setting up what is known as the reverse pivot.

If the weight is not shifted to the right side during the back swing, there will not be as much power in the shot as there should be. To convince yourself of this, try putting your weight on your right leg, then swing at the golf ball, while keeping the weight on the right leg.

Heeled Golf Shot - The Cure

Position the ball just inside the left heel at address. This will help position your body behind the ball and set you up for a solid wooden shot, from the fairway or the tee.

As you make the back swing, let your weight shift to the right, then transfer it to the left side during the downswing and through impact. You will feel the difference this makes to the way you make contact with the ball.

As with all common golf faults, it all comes down to regularly checking the fundamentals of the game.

I hope you have found this article useful.

How To Hit Longer Tee Shots

The handicap golfer is almost mesmerized by the need for ever longer tee shots in the quest to out drive their golfing buddies.

There is something almost mystical about the driver which says subconsciously to the the golfer, hit me 300 yards if you can. And most of us try to do just that. The problem is the reality is different from the mental willingness, most of the time, for us ordinary handicap golfers.

To hit longer tee shots, you really need to be a competent player of the driver, and on top of your game. If you are not, you are going to struggle with the driver for most holes in the round.

Whenever I had problems hitting the driver, I would put it back in the bag and leave it there for the rest of the round. It does not matter what your buddies are doing. They might be hitting screamers on every hole. Stick with the resolution to leave the driver in the bag for this round of golf at least.

Reach for the three wood and hit that at the par fours and fives instead. I have had a lot of success using this club. You would be surprised how far you can hit the three wood. There is more margin of error then there is with the driver, so you can really try to leather the ball, if you want to. If you are slightly out with your swing, the extra loft of the club face will help you.
The driver is far less forgiving.

When you are hitting good shots with this club you will find you are not sacrificing very much distance versus the driver.

Learning to play the three wood well will save you valuable shots in your round of golf, and keep you out of trouble.

Popular Golf Programs

The products listed below may be able to solve your golfing problems. When you overswing with the driver the club shaft will be pointing at the ground, and this is not desireable.

Play better golf in less than 2 weeks

Overswinging the golf club is a golf fault, and you need to cure it. But first lets have a quick look at the cause of the problem.

From the address position, the club is usually taken back with the left arm extended, and the wrists are cocking too late in the backswing forcing the elbows to bend. You can have someone look at your swing to see if you are doing this. As a result of not cocking the wrists early enough, both arms bend and the club is taken below the horizontal at the finish of the backswing.

How do you cure the golf overswing?

From the address position, as you reach the point just beyond your right shoe, with the hands, make sure you cock the wrists upward, that is forwards if you were standing upright holding the club in front of you.

Cocking the wrists at this point will stop you overswinging the club. This together with a full shoulder turn will cure the golf overswing.

Good luck with your game.

If you are serious about improving your golf game, click here.

How Good Is Your Golf Game? - Here's How To Be A Better Golfer

Golf should be an enjoyable game for all, and surely it isn't that difficult is it? We believe it should be easier than it is, that's why it is so darn frustrating to play sometimes, because we make it more difficult than it is. One day we can be playing good shots, the next there's a hook or slice we can't seem to shake off no matter how hard we try.

Reduce you handicap in just 2 weeks

The problem with high handicap golfers is that we are too inconsistent. We simply hit too many bad shots which cost us shots, ruining the scorecard.

Most people are content to plod along returning scores in the late eighties or nineties, or even more than that on a bad day when it's windy and raining and things just aren't going well at all.

Well there is hope for us golfers, especially for the high handicap golfer. I came across this great book called The Simple Golf Swing which historically has a success rate of 95%, and claims that bogey golfers are able to lower their score by at least 7 strokes within the first couple of rounds.

So what is The Simple Golf System?

The Simple Golf Swing" is the # 1 rated golf instruction system on the internet...because IT WORKS.

It has helped many golfers worldwide improve their golf game.

By eliminating the problem shots which ruin your score, such as topping, slicing and hooking, the system enables you to compete. That means you can be in with a chance to win that club competition or medal sooner than you thought.

You will be able to chip the ball closer to the pin than you previously thought possible, and you will be doing that within hours of owning the system.

There is instruction on what you should be thinking as you prepare to hit your shot.

The system has a 95% success rate and bogey golfers are able to reduce their handicaps by at least 7 strokes within the first couple of rounds. I suspect the higher handicap golfers might even be able to improve on that by reducing even more strokes.

The goal of this system is for each golfer to break 80.

The system addresses the 3 biggest problems bogey golfers face in realizing their true scoring potential, which are slicing, inconsistency and lack of distance. The system shows you how you can master these problem areas before moving on to the short game.

It then teaches you how to play your chip shots close to the flag.

With all these elements in place you will be able to shoot lower scores.

Most important, there is a full refund within sixty days if you are not happy with the system. So there is really nothing to lose by trying the system, and everything to gain, in the better golf you will be playing and the more enjoyment you will get out of the sport.

So how can my golf game benefit from The Simple Golf Swing System?

Here are the benefits of The Simple Golf Swing:

You will find a step-by-step guide with detailed photos that will teach you the correct way to grip the club. Instructions for the interlocking and the overlapping grip are included. This will let you experiment to see what works best for YOU.

Learn a method to check that you grip the club in the same manner for every shot to promote consistency.

Learn a detailed procedure that will ensure that your grip promotes straight ball flight, and not a hook or a slice.

Learn a secret on how to align the clubface so that you don't push the ball right. This is a problem that many golfers face, but luckily it is an easy one to fix.

Discover an easy method to hit more greens. It's not difficult once you have the correct information.

Learn the revolutionary setup. "The Simple Golf Swing" setup allows you to swing around your spine. The key is to limit the amount of horizontal and vertical body movement during the swing. This setup will automatically give you the correct swing plane that promotes consistency and power. It's given to you in a step-by-step procedure that is easy to remember on the course.

Discover the easiest way to make perfect impact with the ball on every shot. Just imagine the amount of stokes that you will save.

You may have heard of the one-piece takeaway. Learn the method that will help you master this move, and keep your swing connected. This is the most beneficial part of the system. It provides consistency, and gives you a controlled swing that results in increased distance.

Learn how to get to the top of your backswing, and how to get into the same position for every shot. "The Simple Golf Swing" teaches you a method that promotes an inside-out swing that you can use to automatically hit the fairway.

Learn where to stop your backswing. I teach a shorter backswing than most. A short backswing promotes consistency, and increased distance. Remember, golf is a game of opposites.

Discover the distance secret that many instructors don't even address because it's so hard to teach. Here's a hint: Hand Action that can increase your swing speed by 10 mph.

For more about how this system can transform you into a better golfer click here

This system appeals to me because it stresses the importance of the golf swing. If you get this right, and it isn't difficult, a lot of other things fall into place and you will hit fewer bad shots.

Read the book, learn how to swing the club properly, and look forward to seeing your golf game improve.

How To Play Courses With Tight Fairways

I don't know about you, but when I walk to the first tee of a course I have not played before and I see lots of rough and not much fairway, I think to myself, this looks interesting. I must set a high priority on hitting my first shot straight. At the very least, hit the fairway.

The first hole is 430 yards so I would need my driver. But hang on a second, do I really need to hit the driver? I think to myself, play the percentage shot. Not exactly safety first, rather a cautious approach to the problem and possibility of straying off the fairway.

I do not really want to start my round of golf by hitting a wayward tee shot that finishes in the rough, which means I have to spend time looking for it. No thank you very much.

So, I decide safety first. Get the ball on the fairway, and keep it there. Does it matter if I do not crash the ball 300 yards with my driver, even if it ends up in the middle of the fairway?

Do I have enough confidence in my golf swing to be able to repeat that kind of straight and long driving for the entire round? No I do not. My handicap is 18 so in all fairness, I would be playing better than that if I did.

Safety first it is then. Play a long iron off the tee, maybe a three wood sometimes if my shots are going straight today.

It does not matter if I sacrifice thirty yards or so off the tee, as long as the ball finishes on the fairway. That is the number one objective on golf courses with narrow fairways, so I know my strategy makes sense.

Just stick to it, and do not be tempted to get the driver out and have a thrash, because it could end up costing me at least one or more strokes on my card, and I would think about the folly of it for a long time afterwards, so forget it.

Oh yes, and do not forget to choke down on the grip. This will give me better swing control. This together with a three quarter length backswing will see me through.

I will not be out driving my golfing buddies today, but at least I will not be straying off the fairways either, and I will finish with a better score as a result of this strategy.

My favourite golf link Click Here!

How to Hit a Straight Drive - Here's an Easy Way to Do It

In order to hit straight drives, you have to swing the club differently to the rest of the clubs in your bag. What is needed is more of a sweeping motion rather than a hit.

But you can learn how to swing this way. Click here to discover how.

Enjoy the rest of the article:

Some golfers who are new to the game and have not been playing it long have a tendency to want to thrash the ball with the driver. The desire is to hit the ball as hard as possible in the belief that the harder you hit it the further it will travel. If that is your expectation, think again.

Sometimes I find my swing is faster than it should be. When I notice this happening, I slow it down and concentrate on swinging the club as smoothly as possible.

The power and accuracy of the golf drive comes from the correct timing in the correct swing path. How can you practice these two important elements of the golf game?

Here is what I do.

1. Take to the practice ground and lay out two rows of seven tee pegs, spaced about an inch apart. Make sure the two rows of tee pegs are parallel to each other and have them about eight inches apart.

2. Place one tee peg in the middle of the two rows.

3. Practice swinging the driver through the corridor of tee pegs. If the pattern of pegs is spoiled, noticing where it has spoiled will help you take corrective action.

4. Once you can swing consistently through the tee pegs without knocking any down, put a golf ball on the tee peg in the middle of the formation. Recreate the smooth swing you have been practising. Don't try and smash the ball, just concentrate on swinging the club as smoothly as possible. You will then be swinging in the correct plane and the result will be a straight drive, with the power for the shot coming from the loft of the club and the proper tempo of your swing.

By making this a regular practice drill you will learn to swing the club on the right path through the ball and you should notice a difference in straighter golf drives.

Philip Woodrow is a golfer who has read a lot about how to improve his golf game, and is always looking for ways to be a better player. Hit straight golf shots and be a better golfer. It's no coincidence that the first club you hit when you begin your round of golf is the driver. Most golf courses start with a par 4, just so that there isn't an immediate delay on the course.

Hitting long golf drives doesn't come from trying to knock the ball out of sight with your driver. It comes from correct swing tempo and timing.

If you want to improve your golf game, you could do worse than study how the golfing superstars hit their drives. Very few try to thrash the golf ball from the tee, so the message should be clear to us. Let the loft of the driver and the swing tempo do the job for us.

Here is how you can hit your drives longer.

1. Use a slightly shorter grip than usual, that is choke down on the club grip by a couple of inches. This will give you greater control of the shot and you will hit the ball straighter as a result.

2. Try a three quarter length swing. This seems to go against the tendency for golfers to think that longer drives come a longer back swing.

3. The power from this shortened swing comes from the club head speed you generate as you enter the impact zone. If you can avoid un winding your wrists until they are about waist height on the downswing, then whip the hands through the ball, you will be surprised how far and straight your drive will be.

Keep these tips in mind next time you take to the golf course and surprise yourself how far and straight you can hit your golf drives.

Philip Woodrow is a golfer who has read a lot about how to improve his golf game, and is always looking for ways to be a better player. For most beginners this seems an almost impossible dream, but with the application and practise of some sound principles it becomes achievable.

Here is what you need to do:

1. Posture. Stand with the feet pointing to the target, with knees flexed, back straight and the weight resting towards the heels.

2. Take the club back using a hand and arm swing, making sure the wrists are fully cocked.

3. Try to keep your body position as still as possible as your swing the club around your body.

4. You must make sure the left side of your body is cleared out of the way before you strike the ball. This will also enable you to generate lots of club head speed, and therefore hit the ball further.

5. Stay down as you hit through the shot and follow through keeping your arms straight. Seeing the ground after the ball has been played will stop you lifting your head too soon and the result will be a better golf shot.

6. You have complete control over how much power you use in playing your irons this way. Many top players play their shots well within their capabilities.

Here are some more tips to develop consistency with your iron shots.

1. Try to develop a sense of tempo with your clubs. Once you have done this try to play the irons at the same, even tempo. Don't try and rush the shot.

2. Keeping the right knee flexed as you make the back swing will ensure you only turn your hips 45%.

3. Make notes as to how far you typically hit the ball with each iron in your bag.

I hope you enjoyed these tips, and here's to good golfing.

Philip Woodrow is a golfer who has read a lot about how to improve his golf game, and is always looking for ways to be a better player. Consistent golf iron shots Visit: http://i-golfswingtips.blogspot.com for more helpful golf tips and advice.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Philip_Woodrow

How To Fix That Slice

It's probably true to say the golf swing slice is the most destructive shot a golfer can play. You simply can't expect to score well if you play golf with a slice. Even if you try and allow for it you might get away with it for a while, but sooner or later the tail will bite and you will be looking for your ball in deep rough.

It isn't easy to keep lots of do's and don'ts in your head as you play your golf shots. You know the kind of thing, Don't sway, keep your left arm straight, don't over swing, etc., etc.

Cut 7-12 strokes off your handicap in just 2 weeks! Here's how

Sounds like an advertisement for practising, doesn't it? Well it is really. Regular practise will make you a better golfer, and that is good for your self esteem on the golf course, and that is important if you are going to enjoy the game of golf.

How to fix that slice?

Well here are a few pointers. Don't make it difficult for yourself. Start with the basics, the golf fundamentals, this is where all analysis of golf faults should start.

1.Make sure you are standing square to the ball. You might think you are square to the ball as you address your shot, but prove it to yourself, but laying a golf club on the ground pointing to the target you are aiming at.

2.Make a conscious attempt to play the shot to the right of the target. By doing this you will be swinging from the inside swing path to outside, not the opposite, which results in a sliced golf shot.

Hope these tips have helped, and good luck with your game.

Golf Putting - How to find the sweet spot

If you want to be a good putter you need to strike the ball with the sweet spot of the putter blade.

Hit the ball either side of it and the shot won't be as good.

But, wait a minute. How high should I tee the ball. I don't want to sky the ball, neither do I want to smother it.

This golf tip is important if you are to play good golf strokes.

Best advice is to tee your golf ball and take a few steps back to check how high you have teed it. Standing over the ball you are looking down on the ball so it's not always easy to guage how high you have teed it.

If it's too high you'll likely sky the ball. You don't want that to happen.
Too low and it will be difficult to get a decent trajectory on the ball.
The solution is to have half the ball below the club head, so the other half is above it, for the driver at least. For iron shots the ball obviously needs to be lower. Some players don't use a tee peg at all off the tee with an iron club.

It's largely a process of trial and error until you get it right. What suits some players might not suit your golfing style.

Golf Tips For Beginners - Ben Hogan golf books

No web blog about golf tips is complete without the mention of that timeless classic golf instruction book by Ben Hogan:
Five Lessons:The Modern Fundamentals of Golf.

The first edition was published in 1957 and the book has stood the test of time. Nothing else. No countless other things to try and remember all at the vital moment of impact.

In my opinion, the message in this book is one of the best golf tips for golfers of all abilities.

Bill Cox was a proponent of the philosophy that swing tempo was all important.

To learn this, you had a length of cloth with a suitable weight attached to it, not too heavy and not too light, so as to make it possible to swing to the rythmn of the weight.

Practice swinging it as you would a golf club. When you have done this enough times, use the same swing tempo when you swing your golf club, and see the improvement in your golf shots !

Do yourself a favour, and get rid of all the clutter in your head when you play your golf shots, and focus only on swinging the clubhead.

An easy golf tip for golfers of all abilities , and it works!

Try and introduce some tempo in to your swing.

Lower your score by at least 7 strokes now

Don't overswing

This golf tip is about how far back to swing the clubhead.

The general consensus is take the club to the horizontal position, or just past it, with the driver. That's your longest club in the bag, so as you hit shots through the range of clubs between driver and putter the backswing gets shorter and shorter.

The temptation with the longest clubs is to try and hit them as hard and far as possible. Some golfers might think that equates with the longer the backswing the further you hit the ball.]

It doesn't work out that way as many of us know, by experience.
So if you can resist the temptation to overswing especially with the driver, choosing a more compact swing instead, the result is more likely to be consistently hit straight shots.

Golf tip - keep the right leg braced

This golf tip is about keeping the lower body still as you play yout golf shots.

All through the backswing the idea is to keep the right leg braced, ie. to resist the turn, thus setting up coil-spring type of effect. Similar to winding up a clock.

There is an increase in resistance there too when you wind the clock up, the spring turns tighter and the key becomes more difficult to turn. So with the golf swing. Turn the shoulders while keeping the right leg immovable.

At the top of the backswing the weight shifts to the left leg while the hips unfold counter clockwise and the right leg aids the impetus of the clubhead by pushing at the same time as the body unwinds.

I could never get the timing right and so it never worked particularly well for me but it might for you.

Golf Tip - posture

This golf tip is one of the fundamentals of good golf

Posture.

Stand to the ball in a semi-sitting postition keeping the back as straight as possible while the knees are bent.
